Healthcare continues to expand in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship with the expansion of home aides and home health agencies, certified trainers, and independent care providers. Students will learn how technological advancements require a strong understanding of healthcare technology, future needs in response to access, and solutions to limited services in demographic areas of the world.

Course Objectives

Define and describe key components of the healthcare innovation process.
Become aware of how to identify challenges to the quality of healthcare delivery and the opportunity for improved patient care and cost reductions.
Prioritize, select, and practice the “needs finding” process and a “needs filtering” process for identifying and prioritizing real healthcare problems and opportunities for innovation.
Gain strong communication and leadership skills in advocating health systems change.
