PRMA 2505 - EDM Technology 5.0 Credits
Students will have the opportunity to set-up and preform standard operations on Electrical Discharge Machines. In addition, upon completion they will be able to perform scheduled maintenance needed to keep the machines in calibration. Many types of die cuts will be demonstrated for students to practice and develop machining proficiency.
Prerequisites: (1) PRMA 2412 with a grade of C or better

Course Objectives 1. Students will apply safety and process procedures to the Basic Machines for navigating and operating.
2. Students will demonstrate effectively operating the Initial Setting Menu to Set up a Machine tor a job.
3. Students will demonstrate and troubleshoot the Die Cut strategy to a machine.
4. Students will demonstrate and troubleshoot the Re-skim Die Cut strategy to a machine.
5. Students will demonstrate and troubleshoot the Cut strategy to a machine.
6. Students will demonstrate and troubleshoot the 2-Axis Taper Die Cut strategy to a machine.
7. Students will demonstrate and troubleshoot the 2-Axis Taper and Land Die Cut strategy to a machine.
8. Students will demonstrate and troubleshoot the Straightness Compensation procedure when using machines.
9. Students will perform scheduled machine maintenance.
