PSPT 1410 - Powersports Fuel Systems


4.0 Credits

Learners are able to identify, repair, or replace fuel delivery components and rebuild all types of carburetors found on powersport vehicles and outdoor power products. Oil injection, fuel injection, and turbo charging are covered. The focus is on today’s fuel system technology, carburetor rebuilding, and synchronization of multi-carburetors.

Prerequisites: (3) PSPT 1000, PSPT 1100, and PSPT 1110

Course Objectives
  1. Identify components and explain the basic operating principles on electronic fuel injection engines.
  2. Perform various EFI diagnostic tests.
  3. Using diagnostic tools, monitor and diagnose fuel management issues.
  4. Identify the components and functions of each component in the exhaust system.
  5. Inspect, troubleshoot, and perform an exhaust system service.
  6. Distinguish among the different types of emission control systems.
