INFO 1499 - Computer Science I 4.5 Credits
Students gain a broad overview of programming in a high-level general-purpose programming language. Students are introduced to programming and problem solving. At the end of the course, students design a program using programming language.

- Explain how computer software is designed and produced
- Read, process, and write data with a computer program
- Utilize variables to store and process data
- Perform operations on variables of various types
- Make decisions in a program using decision statements and logical operations
- Explain various data containers and their use
- Repeat operations in a program using loops
- Describe and implement encapsulation using functions
- Manipulate Strings using built-in string functions
- Read and write files
