INFO 1499 - Computer Science I

Students gain a broad overview of programming in a high-level general-purpose programming language.  Students are introduced to programming and problem solving. At the end of the course, students design a program using programming language.

  1. Explain how computer software is designed and produced
  2. Read, process, and write data with a computer program
  3. Utilize variables to store and process data
  4. Perform operations on variables of various types
  5. Make decisions in a program using decision statements and logical operations
  6. Explain various data containers and their use
  7. Repeat operations in a program using loops
  8. Describe and implement encapsulation using functions
  9. Manipulate Strings using built-in string functions
  10. Read and write files
