INFO 1002 - Introduction to Information Technology

Students are introduced to Information Technology vocabulary and fundamentals related to computer hardware, software, networking, security, and basic Information Technology literacy. 

Note: This course aligns with and may help students prepare for the CompTIA Tech+ certification exam.

Course Objectives
  1. Define basic IT terminology.
  2. Set up a computer workstation and use basic software applications
  3. Explain the functions and types of devices used within a computer system.

  5. Describe some principles of software and database development.
  6. Configure computers and mobile devices to connect to home networks and to the Internet.
  7. Identify security issues affecting the use of computers and networks.
