WELD 1262 - Quick Start 3.0 Credits
Students are given a quick start into a welding career by preparing them to pass the type of welding test given by many employers. Students learn the fundamentals of oxy-acetylene cutting, gas metal arc welding, and air carbon arc cutting. The course also explores print reading for welders.

Course Objectives
- Discuss operating and safety procedures of oxy- fuel processes and equipment.
- Make straight, bevel, circle, square, and odd shape cuts using Oxy- fuel equipment and plasma.
- Discuss operating and safety procedures for GMAW processes and equipment
- Weld Stringer beads, weave beads, fillet joints, and grove joints with GMAW Equipment
- Pass a welder qualification test using the spray transfer method of the GMAW process.
- Discuss operating and safety procedures for Ari Carbon Arc processes and equipment.
- Perform Gouging and Weld removal using the Air Carbon Arc Cutting process.
