PHOT 1500 - Moving Image Lab 6.0 Credits
This course is an overview of methods used in moving-image production. By investigating the pre-production, production, and post-production processes, students achieve an understanding of how these principles integrate with still photography, video production, and multimedia.

Course Objectives
- Name and recognize the pre-production, production and post production components and processes of motion picture production based on lecture and reading assignments.
- Operate a professional video camera and practice basic camera movements, learn composition and the basics of creating a series of moving images to tell stories.
- Name, identify and operate all video camera functions used in professional production (white balance, f-stop, shutter and manual vs. automatic controls).
- Learn the basics of professional editing system including cutting, transitions and graphics to convey story.
- Correctly name, identify and operate different microphone techniques using proper placement and handling,
- Produce 5 short moving image projects and perform basic DVD authoring for distribution.
