ELTR 1200 - Basic Electricity

This course is an introduction to the electrical field. Students are exposed to electrical fundamentals of safety, theory, electrical circuit calculations, and electrical device installations. This course includes hands-on training of basic wiring circuits, the usage of a meter, and simple troubleshooting skills.

Note: Completion of ELTR 1200 with a grade of C or better is required to advance to the next level class.

Course Objectives

Identify the hazards and safety requirements associated with the use electricity.
Classify and apply basic electrical fundamentals.
Identify the parts of an electrical circuit and use the correct electrical formulas to solve electrical calculations.
Perform the troubleshooting process on electrical circuits and devices.
Apply electrical formulas by creating electrical circuits.
Plan and create electrical circuits with appropriate devices.
Students show basic proficiency in theories, concepts, and applications.
