ELAP 1110 - Electrical IA 7.0 Credits
Students learn basic electrical theory and principles. Through classroom instruction, students explore and gain an understanding of what electricity is, how it works and how it is used. Students become competent in the understanding of electrical circuitry and performing electrical calculations.

- Recognize the importance of electrical safety.
- Explain electrical fundamentals such as matter, electron theory and magnetism.
- Demonstrate an understanding of current flow and electrical formulas.
- Identify the different types of electrical circuits.
- Describe typical electrical systems and their protection devices.
- Show an understanding of alternating current and the concepts related to it.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of motors, generators and transformers.
- Interpret the purpose of, procedures for, and regulations dealing with grounding and bonding.
