REES 1100 - Real Estate Law

This course familiarizes students with the basic Nebraska Real Estate Act as it applies to ownership, conveyance, and rights in real property. It also familiarizes students with the role of the agent in the relationship between the broker and client.

Course Objectives
  1. Explore the legal system and nature of real property by defining, describing, and illustrating the terminology and characteristics inherent and unique to the field of real estate.
  2. Identify the elements of the real estate transaction by discussing, demonstrating, and analyzing the various interests, rights, and relationships that exit by virtue of constitutional law, statutes, and common law relative to real estate transactions.
  3. Investigate various aspects of land use and regulation including rights and duties of landowners and occupants, legal planning, and regulation (e.g. environmental law, etc.).
