VACA 2050 - Pro-Tools

This course concentrates on the industry-standard Pro-Tools Digital Audio Workstation software and hardware. Students learn how to use advanced Pro-Tools techniques and concepts in the professional recording and editing environments.

Course Objectives
  1. Explain the components, different systems, and cross compatibility issues within Protools and its hardware.
  2. Utilize track Properties and Parameter views within Protools
  3. Use mix automation, plugin automation, session organization, create new mix views and save files properly.
  4. Apply tempo/time signature mapping and place exact insertion points on the grid of Protools.
  5. Describe the uses and perils of disc allocation.
  6. Configure and save personal i/o set-ups in Protools.
  7. Demonstrate midi Integration, software synths, sound modules, and control surface applications.
