PRMA 2410 - CNC I 9.0 Credits
This course introduces CNC machines with emphasis on machine setup and operation of the CNC mill and CNC lathe. Students spend time learning and writing basic G-Code functions needed for straight-line milling, hole-making, tapping, and engraving.
Prerequisites: (1) PRMA 1403 with a grade of C or better.

Course Objectives
- Employ CNC machine safety guidelines consistently.
- Perform care and maintenance of CNC equipment.
- Calculate coordinates and dimensions of CNC drawings.
- Write a program for CNC milling and lathe machine and analyze it for defects.
- Set up a CNC machine for standard and complex work-pieces.
- Apply programming and machine work-piece with CNC machine.
- Understand G and M codes.
- Choose the proper tools for machining on a CNC.
- Determine the correct speeds, feeds, and chip loads.
- Program the CNC Lathe and Mill using G code.
- Setup and run the programs
