PLBG 1020 - Basic Residential Plumbing

Students continue to learn the residential side of plumbing, focusing mainly on wood structures, materials, and tools. The items discussed in this course direct attention on wood-framed structures such as single and multi-family dwellings along with the different types of materials and tools that are commonly used with these structures.

Course Objectives
  1. Display behavior to be an effective worker and team player.
  2. Explain how a residential plumbing system operates.
  3. Identify the tools associated with the residential side of plumbing.
  4. Distinguish the common materials used in a residential plumbing system.
  5. Practice jobsite safety in residential construction.
  6. Demonstrate applicable math skills for the trade.
  7. Demonstrate basic blueprint reading skills.
  8. Apply basic plumbing concepts to projects in the shop/plumbing lab.
