INFO 2630 - Structured Query Language (SQL) 4.5 Credits
Students gain the skills needed to access and manipulate data in a relational database management system. The course covers basic- through advanced-level SQL commands and explores various DBMS SQL environments.

Course Objectives
- Review SQL development environments.
- Create a normalized, relational data model.
- Demonstrate the use of data definition language commands used to create, modify and drop database tables.
- Demonstrate the use of data manipulation language commands to insert, update, and delete database table data.
- Demonstrate the use of the SQL commands and operators used to retrieve, filter and manipulate data from a single database table.
- Demonstrate the use of join techniques to retrieve and manipulate data from multiple tables.
- Demonstrate the use of functions, procedures and cursors.
- Demonstrate the proper use of nested queries or subqueries.
- Demonstrate the techniques and commands used for data security, including the use of views, user privileges and constraints for the preservation of data quality.
