INFO 2351 - Introduction to XML 4.5 Credits
This course teaches students how to retrieve and manage data while constructing well-formed and valid XML documents. Current W3C recommendations for the use of DTD, schemas, XSL, XSLT, and XSL-FO are also explored to demonstrate the multi-functional use of XML.

Course Objectives
- Describe the role of the W3C organization in XML development.
- Define the XML family of specifications and the role each plays in XML development.

- Apply advanced CSS properties and XSL to create XML documents to produce industry-standard output.
- Discuss the major points in the XML 1.0 recommendation.
- Create well-formed and valid XML documents using an XML editor.
- Plan and create data type definitions for basic XML languages.
- Compose and design XML schema documents to describe basic XML languages.
- Prepare and produce XML schema documents to describe complex XML languages.
- Apply new specifications and technologies as they relate to XML specifications.
- Integrate XML using JSON, JavaScript and other techniques.
