Students learn advanced networking concepts, apply knowledge and skills through hands-on and simulated network activities, and demonstrate proficiency through realistic problem-solving scenarios.   Students also implement core networking best practices including dual stack Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) and Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) architectures, virtualization, network assurance, security, and automation.

Course Objectives
  1. Design and build redundant layer 2 networks.
  2. Design and build networks using Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) and Open Shortest Path First (OSPF).
  3. Design and build network using Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
  4. Implement networks using multicast and Quality of Service (QoS).
  5. Explain Internet Protocol (IP) Services and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
  6. Design, secure, and implement a wireless network.
  7. Develop network monitoring strategies.
  8. Secure network devices using network access strategies.
  9. Describe the benefits of virtualization, automation, and programmability in a network.
