INFO 1317 - Content Management Systems for Professionals 4.5 Credits
Students are introduced to the technical basis and architecture related to Content Management Systems (CMS) by creating, managing and publishing websites. Students experience the lifecycle of content within a CMS beginning with modeling and aggregation, editorial workflow and ending with publication. Students also examine the ethical and legal issues related to CMS.

Course Objectives
- Design effective Web pages using various content management systems (CMS)
- Configure and customize content management systems.
- Use hypertext markup language.
- Insert and manipulate media and create image galleries.
- Create and insert hyperlinks onto a web page.
- Use content management systems on a desktop or mobile device to manage a web site.
- Add custom headers and backgrounds.
- Create and edit menus.
- Use widgets and add and activate plugins.
- Create and customize themes and use Cascading Style Sheets to control formatting.
