HVAC 2604 - Sheet Metal Fundamentals 2


4.5 Credits

Students learn how to properly size and run ductwork, how to use an air duct calculator, and to seal, insulate and pressure-test ductwork. Students practice building plenums onsite and installing flexible ductwork.

Prerequisites: HVAC 1104  with a grade of C or better

Course Objectives
  1. Build ductwork for main and branch sections.
  2. Calculate the proper size or supply and return duct for the HVAC equipment.
  3. Seal and insulate ductwork.
  4. Install return drops and plenums on HVAC equipment and attach them to main ductwork.
  5. Pressure test the ductwork after assembly.
  6. Practice using flexible ductwork.
