HVAC 2301 - Advanced Residential Air Conditioning

Students calculate heating and cooling needs of various structures using manual and computerized calculator methods. The course covers equipment selection, static pressure, and airflow.

Prerequisites: HVAC 2101  with a grade of C or better

Course Objectives
  1. Calculate the heat loss and gain of a home using the J-1 form.
  2. Calculate the heat loss and gain of a home using a computer.
  3. Demonstrate the use of an air-duct calculator.
  4. Select appliances for the home.
  5. Design a duct system, and select registers and grilles for the application.
