HMSV 2995 - Practicum II - Chemical Dependency Counseling 6 Credits
The course will provide students with an opportunity to integrate their theoretical/textbook knowledge and classroom ideas in a practical way in an actual workplace. Through dual supervision of practicum site supervisor and practicum instructor, the student will become better prepared for employment in the chemical dependency counseling field.

Course Objectives
- Continue to apply basic counseling skills in working with clients relative to the practicum experience.
- Continue to demonstrate ethical and professional behavior.
- Continue to demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain open communication and a working relationship with staff and the supervisor at the practicum site.
- Continue to demonstrate a responsibility and dependability by adhering to policies, procedures, and expectations, and completing course objectives.
- Continue to demonstrate an understanding of the Code of Ethics in substance abuse and appropriately seek supervision in practicum.
- Attend scheduled seminar time with practicum instructor.
