HMSV 2110 - Group Counseling 4.5 Credits
Students study group theory, processes and dynamics, as well as techniques and methods of group counseling and facilitation. The coursework includes practice in group counseling and facilitation.

Course Objectives
- Identify and demonstrate appropriate behavior in group counseling sessions.
- Identify and demonstrate leadership skills for group counseling sessions.
- Explain the various theoretical approaches used in group counseling sessions.
- Integrate the theories and proper behavioral approaches so one cannot only function well in a group counseling session but also lead a group session.
- Identify and apply standards of professional conduct (code of ethics) as appropriate to group settings.
- Be exposed to group process in the community by interviewing a group counselor.
