This course provides students with the opportunity to explore career options in the human services field through direct observation in a field setting and through guest speakers. This course also helps students to begin to develop knowledge of community resources.

Course Objectives
  1. Recognize and explain the various roles human service workers play in community agencies and organizations.
  2. Describe mission and the function of human services agencies.
  3. Identify and explain funding sources of community agencies.
  4. Explain the function and role of the beginning human services worker in human service settings.
  5. Determine and describe the organizational structure of agencies.
  6. Compile and describe information about a human services agency.
