EMSP 1122 - Paramedic Part 2 of 4 12.0 Credits
Students are introduced to medical emergencies. This course provides the foundational understanding of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of cardiovascular system. Electrocardiography will be introduced and applied for patient management.
NOTE: All paramedic courses must be taken consecutively, completed with a C or above, and taken concurrently with their respective corequisite clinical/field component in order for students to sit for the Paramedic certification exam.

Course Objectives
- Integrate pathophysiological principles and assessment findings to formulate a field impression and implement the treatment plan for the patient with cardiovascular disease.
- Provide a complete comprehensive cardiac patient assessment.
- Integrate 4-Lead and 12-Lead electrocardiographic (ECG) findings
- Manage the patient with cardiac medications.
- Manage the cardiac patient with electrical therapy.
- Practice and apply skills from the EMSP Handbook for EMSP 1122 and 1120
