ELTR 2331 - Electric Services and Transformers

Students learn electric service fundamentals, system transformers, and principals of grounding and bonding electrical systems. Students gain basic knowledge of National Electrical Code Articles 230 and 250.

Prerequisites: (1) ELTR 1220  with a grade of C or better

Course Objectives
1.    Explain the difference between grounding and bonding of electrical systems.
2.    Explain basic design requirements and methods for grounding electrical systems.
3.    Explain proper grounding of electrical services.
4.    Explain the purpose of grounding electrode systems.
5.    Explain the purpose of bonding.
6.    Explain the requirements for equipment grounding conductors.
7.    Explain requirements for enclosure and equipment grounding.
8.    Explain grounding requirements for separately derived systems.
