ELAP 1120 - Electrical IB


7.0 Credits

Students explore and learn about the National Electric Code (N.E.C.). Through classroom instruction, students gain an understanding of the purpose, scope, and arrangement of the N.E.C., as well as how it is enforced in the electrical industry. Students learn how to navigate and comprehend the requirements for electrical installations of the N.E.C. Students also learn and demonstrate basic conduit bending skills.

Course Objectives
  1. Perform basic conduit bending.
  2. Utilize the National Electrical Code to define terms and requirements associated with electrical installations.    
  3. Locate and apply wiring and protection requirements dictated by the National Electrical Code.  
  4. Locate and apply wiring methods and materials requirements as dictated by the National Electric code.
  5. Locate and apply articles related to equipment for general use as dictated by the National Electric code.
