ARCH 1105 - Revit Fundamentals 4.5 Credits
Students gain an introduction to Revit as a BIM (Building Information Modeling) tool while providing an overview of operation and terminology for building documentation. Students will have an opportunity to engage with the software through lectures, discussions, and hands-on assignments. Fundamental skills acquired in this course establish a foundation for future learning using Revit software.

Course Objectives 1. Operate industry-relevant software tools to accomplish assigned tasks for collaboration and communication.
2. Interpret design intentions for the project including programmatic requirements and efficiency goals.
3. Design aspects of the building as required by the project brief(s).
4. Generate typical “A” sheets to include drawings and schedules found within the architectural portion of a drawing set.
5. Annotate drawings that are accurate, concise, readable, and coordinated.
6. Utilize industry-relevant software to track project revisions, discipline coordination, and change management.
7. Evaluate the impacts of codes, standards, and other regulations upon the design and documentation of the building.
8. Interpret necessary changes to the architectural documents in response to variations in the design.
