ARTS 1030 - 3-D Design 4.5 Credits
Students learn 3-D design, with a concentration on the principles and elements of 3-D form and space. Traditional processes include construction, carving, assembling, and modeling. Computer 3-D modeling programs may be used.

Course Objectives 1. Create 3-D objects using additive, subtractive, and replacement sculpting methods.
2. Create 3-D objects that reflect art history, multicultural issues, and aesthetics as they apply to a visual vocabulary.
3. Critique 3-D objects using appropriate vocabulary that includes the elements and principles of 3-D design.
4. Create 3-D objects from observation for visualization, planning, and analysis.
5. Create 3-D objects that demonstrate acquisition of manual skills related to a variety of basic three-dimensional media.
6. Create 3-D objects using 3-D digital modeling systems.
