ARCH 1115 - Revit Essentials 9.0 Credits
Through hands-on experience, students learn to navigate and operate Autodesk Revit software. Students employ Revit to represent architecture in 2D and 3D space as a means of producing technical construction documents. This course is focused on learning how to model and annotate building parts while utilizing Revit’s ability to organize complex data sets. Students also learn how to generate renderings from Revit projects.

Course Objectives 1. Define Building Information Modeling (BIM).
2. Navigate the Revit user interface.
3. Place architectural elements into the View Window (workspace) to create a three-dimensional model.
4. Modify and view architectural elements.
5. Generate Build panel elements including roofs, floors, ceilings, and curtain walls.
6. Create, import and adjust family components using the Family Editor.
7. Produce stairs, railings and ramps.
8. Place and adjust Room and Area Plans.
9. Link Revit, CAD and image files into a Revit project.
10. Assemble tabular data to organize and describe graphic and model information.
11. Create two-dimensional views to represent the three-dimensional model.
12. Generate rendered images of architectural space including both interior and exterior views.
