2022 - 2023 Catalog Addendums


While every possible step has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the catalog, sometimes minor changes must be made throughout the year that are in the interest of the students or the College. The following are updates and changes made after the initial publication on May 2, 2022. These changes are reflected in the online version of the catalog but will not be reflected in the print version and are considered an addendum to the 2022-2023 catalog.

Program Changes

12/9/22 - Diesel Technology

Power Generation (DTPGO) & Heavy Equipment (DTHEO)

  • Due to an error - the note for students who currently hold a Class A or Class B CDL has been changed to the following: Students who currently hold a Class A or Class B CDL may ask for a waiver of DESL 1295 and DESL 1300L. 

Diesel Service (DTDSO)

  • Due to an omission the following note has been added: Students who currently hold a Class A or Class B CDL may ask for a waiver of DESL 1295 and DESL 1300L. 

 

8/16/22 - Nursing, Practical (LPNCE)

  • To correct an omission, the following statement has been added to the degree: “All required classes for the LPNCE degree must have a grade of C or better to graduate from the program.”

8/16/22 - Health Data and Information Management (HDIAS)

  •  To correct an omission, the following statement has been added to the degree: “All required classes for the HDIAS degree must have a grade of C or better to graduate from the program.”

8/16/22 - Fire Science Technology (FSAAS)

  • To correct an omission, the following statement has been added to the degree: “All required classes for the FSAAS degree must have a grade of C or better to graduate from the program.”

7/18/22 - Nursing (ASNAS)

Due to an entry error, clarification has been added to the Professionalism/Life Skills & Information Literacy competency and the credit hours have been adjusted to reflect MCC general education requirements. The catalog now reflects:

Other Changes

 

2/15/2023 - Financial Matters - Standard 1

To correct an error that resulted in an omission, Standard 1 was updated and now reflects: The percentage of attempted credit hours completed is measured by dividing the cumulative number of completed credits by the cumulative number of attempted credits.  The minimum requirement is 67 percent.  For financial aid purposes, a course is considered complete if a grade of A, B, C, D, P, or R is earned.  Grades of F, W, and I are considered unsuccessful grades and reduce the completion rate.

 

2/1/2023 - Faculty Correction

To correct a clerical error, faculty Timothy Sievers was moved from the faculty list in the Construction Education Area to the faculty list in the Industrial Technology area.

 

8/25/2022 - Credit for Prior Learning

To correct an error, point 2 and 3 under Policies and Procedures were updated to reflect the following:

  1. Credits granted for prior learning do not apply toward fulfillment of MCC’s residency requirement for graduation.
  2. Students may apply up to twenty-five credits of prior learning credit toward the completion of a degree.  Prior learning credit includes credit for national standardized tests, industry and non-credit course alignment, MCC Challenge Exams and MCC Portfolios

 

6/7/2022 - Academic Policies and Procedures > Credit for Students with Earned Undergratduate or Graduate Degrees

Correction. Change was made to reflect the following:

MCC credit is automatically awarded for some general education courses to students who have an official transcript on file in the Records office, noting conferred bachelor’s, master’s, juris doctor, or doctoral degrees from an nationally, accredited American institution. A student must have declared a major as well as actively seek a certificate or/and degree. Qualifying students will receive full credit for associate of applied science general education requirements.*
